lovers, you can take part, it's not over until the fat lady sings and i'm not ready to sing yet. we'll start with our radar tonight because down to our south, we have a storm and up to our north, we have a clipper storm and something we have not seen most of this winter is a coastal area. the anniversary of 2010 and the 9th and 10th. and just as we start talking about that, we start getting the makings of a big storm. the reason this is important is that this moisture may merge with that alberta clipper to become a stronger storm and that would happen during the day on friday somewhere off the coast. now typically when this happens, you really need some kind of area of high pressure up to the north to slow it down to allow it to get strong and find that colder air. but in this case, it looks like it wants to do that anyway and what we think the scenario is going to be somewhere up in this purple area. and this may shift a little
bit. this could be 1 to 2 feet of snow. i'm not sure new york city is in on that. they are on the edge of it. there will be snow. it's going to be mostly rain for d.c. we might have a touch of winter mix tomorrow night and then maybe we wrap around a little snow to end it all on friday night as the storm system really gets wound up. but the way things are looking right now in the pink here. i want you to see the scale. that brighter pink color is a range of 24 to 36 inches. boston is close to that. burrelling is close to that. maine is in that. you work your way through new york and most models aren't putting new york in the biggest part of that. it is in a 6-12-inch band right now based on this model, which is the global forecasting system. i know a lot of you track models here. we'll see how this one does and certainly continue to track this during the day tomorrow. we'll be out of here for saturday. if you have plans, go up to new england, you'll want to pay attention to that forecast. today we got close to 50
degrees. we'll be able to do that again on sunday and into the first half of next week. it's a cold one tonight. we're at 35 degrees. there will be some 20s in suburbs. tomorrow, not a bad day at all. then the clouds are going to increase. our temperature cooler because of the east wind. we'll get up to 42 degrees. as the clouds return to d.c., we'll hold the rain at bay until 10:00, 11:00, or 12:00 tomorrow night. 32 degrees at 8:00 in the morning. by noon, we are 39. by 4:00, about 40 degrees and most of our day tomorrow is going to be dry. so we'll watch tomorrow night and we'll watch friday night to see what happens. most of the rain we get with this next system looks like it's going to be further south and east. d.c. will get some of it. 48 degrees friday. a little cooler on saturday. big winds friday night into saturday and then here you go with that warmup. 50 degrees on sunday. maybe 55 on monday with a few rain showers. tuesday and wednesday also staying near 50 degrees. lots to keep track of. we'll be doing it for you.
